01
Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to appicmedia.com, the Appic Media affiliate platform, and the advertising, attribution, and analytics services we provide to advertisers, app publishers, and affiliate partners (together, "the Services"). It describes how Appic Media ("Appic Media," "we," "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with the Services.
This policy does not cover the privacy practices of advertisers, publishers, or other third parties who operate their own apps, websites, or ad placements. Where our Services are embedded inside a third-party app, that app's own privacy policy governs the broader relationship with its end users, and this policy governs Appic Media's processing as a service provider to that app.
02
Information we collect
The categories of data we process depend on whether you interact with us as an advertiser, a publisher/affiliate, or as a user of an app that includes our advertising technology.
| Category | Examples | Source |
| Account & contact data | Name, business name, email, billing details | Provided directly by advertisers and affiliates |
| Device & advertising identifiers | IDFA, GAID, IP address, device model, OS version | Collected via SDK/pixel at ad request time |
| App & event data | App ID, click and impression timestamps, install/conversion events | Generated by ad delivery and attribution events |
| Usage & log data | Pages viewed, campaign performance, error logs | Generated automatically by our platform |
| Payment data | Bank or payment processor details for affiliate payouts | Provided directly, processed via third-party payment providers |
We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation, government ID numbers, or sensitive categories of data (such as health or biometric information) through the Services.
03
How we use information
- Delivering and optimizing ads — selecting, serving, and pacing campaigns across push, video, rich media, and display formats.
- Attribution and measurement — matching clicks and impressions to installs or conversions in partnership with measurement providers.
- Fraud and abuse prevention — detecting invalid traffic, click spam, and incentivized installs that violate our terms.
- Account management and payouts — administering advertiser and affiliate accounts, invoicing, and commission payments.
- Machine learning optimization — training and running models that improve targeting and bidding performance.
- Product analytics and support — understanding platform usage and responding to support requests.
- Legal and compliance — meeting tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
04
Cookies & tracking technologies
We and our partners use cookies, mobile SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to recognize devices, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. These fall into three general categories:
- Essential — required for ad serving, billing, and security; cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
- Performance & analytics — help us understand aggregate campaign and platform performance.
- Advertising — support attribution, frequency capping, and personalization across campaigns.
Most mobile browsers and operating systems let you limit ad tracking at the device level (for example, "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in iOS and Android settings). Where required by law, we will display a cookie consent notice and honor your preferences.
05
Advertising & measurement partners
To deliver and measure campaigns, we integrate with mobile measurement partners (MMPs) and ad exchanges, including providers such as Adjust, AppsFlyer, Kochava, Singular, TUNE, and Unity Ads. These partners receive device and event-level data solely to perform attribution and reporting on our behalf, under their own data processing terms.
We are a certified partner of Facebook and Google for social and search campaigns; data shared with these platforms is governed by their respective advertising and data-use policies in addition to this one.
06
How we share information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With advertisers, limited to aggregated or pseudonymous performance data needed to evaluate campaign results.
- With publishers and affiliates, limited to data needed to calculate and verify commissions.
- With measurement and infrastructure partners described in Section 5, under contractual confidentiality and use restrictions.
- With service providers such as cloud hosting (including Microsoft Azure infrastructure used for our machine learning systems) and payment processors, acting on our instructions.
- Where required to comply with law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the platform.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to continued protection under a policy at least as protective as this one.
🚫
We do not sell personal information to data brokers, and we do not share data for purposes unrelated to operating the Services.
07
International data transfers
Appic Media operates across 170+ countries, and data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than where it was originally collected, including the country where our servers or service providers are located. Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other regions with data transfer restrictions, we rely on recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
08
Data retention
We retain account and transactional data for as long as needed to operate the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Device-level event data used for attribution is generally retained for a limited window sufficient to complete measurement and fraud review, after which it is deleted or aggregated. We retain data longer where required to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with law.
09
Your rights & choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland
You may exercise rights available under the GDPR or equivalent local law, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident
You may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money; to the extent certain advertising activities are considered "sharing" under California law, you can opt out using the contact details below.
For all users
You can limit ad tracking through your device settings, and advertisers and affiliates can update or delete account information by contacting us directly. We will respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law.
10
Children's privacy
The Services are intended for advertisers, publishers, and affiliate partners, and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it. Publishers integrating our SDK into apps directed at children are responsible for configuring child-appropriate ad settings and complying with applicable laws such as COPPA.
11
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss, including encryption in transit, access controls limiting data to staff who need it, and ongoing monitoring of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice such as an in-platform banner or direct email to affected accounts.
